Desjardins Insurance is pleased to welcome Marcel Padilla as its new Chief Underwriter.
Mr. Padilla will join our team on January 27. He has a wealth of experience in underwriting, risk management and organizational development, thanks to more than 2 decades in the insurance industry, with 15 years dedicated to underwriting.
In his new role, he will oversee the development of Canada-wide underwriting best practices and standards and will bring a strategic vision and a focus on excellence to strengthen Desjardins’s position in the market. In his previous roles, he led multidisciplinary teams in automation and the development of innovative solutions, and fostered collaboration across underwriting, actuarial and claims functions. Mr. Padilla has consistently helped achieve organizational goals. This is owed to his ability to forge strong relationships with both internal and external partners, including distributors and reinsurers.
He holds advanced professional designations, demonstrating his commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth. He also has an MBA in International Finance from the Asian Institute of Management.
